Asia Pacific news 12/12/2008 TKE India - Sardar Vallabhbahai International Airport   On November 14, 2008 TKE India won a milestone repeat order from Sardar Vallabhbahai International Airport in the city of Ahmadabad, Gujarat State. TKE India will supply 11 units of TE-Evolution elevators (1150kg, 1m/s), 8 units of FT823 escalators ( inclination 35°, 0.5m/s, 4 units with a vertical rise of 5.5m, the other 4 with a vertical rise of 6.0m) and 10 units of FS883 moving walks (0.5m/s) for the 2nd phase expansion project of Sardar Vallabhbahai International Airport, which is scheduled to be completed in 2009. Earlier in July 2008, TKE India had completed the installation of 4 MRL passenger elevators and 2 Velino escalators for the 1st phase of the airport expansion project. With a population of 6 million, Ahmadabad is the sixth largest city in India and the largest business city in Gujarat, which is the hub of oil refineries and the diamond business. After completion of the latest expansion project, Sardar Vallabhbahai International Airport will play an increasingly important role as an international aviation hub. The award of this order is another milestone in TKE India’s continuing progress in the Indian elevator market.       back
